Baking soda. I use it for everything. Its the only cleaning product I have in the house, apart from laundry detergent.

I am from Germany, where the majority of people are more environmentally conscious than here in the U.S. I grew up recycling green, brown and white bottles separately. I try not to preach to anyone, but to lead by example. My favorite store is Whole Foods Market; I wish to be buried there when i die. Though too many Americans still lack the commitment or enthusiasm to be "greener", I am happy to see how environmentally conscious stores and products pop up everywhere, making the good stuff more accessible and convenient, which is what it's all about for the folks of ol' U. S. of A.
