Where do you call home?

Indiana, PA

What tip do you have in the category of 'Environment'?

You will know I am a bit extreme, but I got the idea from the purses made of Capri Sun pouches and selling for $25 each. Soooo, I purchase tuna in foil pouches. After using the tuna and washing out the pouch I put a wee bit of batting in the pouch - about like the tuna filled it before. Then I stitch it shut and sew nine of these together, side by side in a 3 X 3 square. This makes a weather-proof, comfy pad for bleachers, picnic benches and lawn chairs. And the pouches stay out of landfills.

What shade of green are you?

Medium Green

Tell us about yourself:

My non-profit, the Evangelical Lutheran Coalition for Mission in Appalachia known to most as ELCMA is launching a sustainable living campaign. We hope to draw congregations and their members into the "green wave" by offering small steps where they can get their feet wet and test the waters for even greater works. Your site is one we have flagged for them to test the waters with. Personnally, I have been recycling and composting since 1976 (ok, so I am over 50). In the olden days, it was not fashionable, but it was economical. We turned in our recycled items for cash - often grocery money at that time. It is a habit my children have embraced. My oldest is a minimalist of the first degree.
