OVERVIEW

Provides analytical support resulting in deeper sales information analysis and insights into our business so that Sales/Marketing management and other internal constituents can focus efforts to create deep and authentic relationships with our trading partners to grow our brand. This position will be able to put more focus on our forecasting process to ensure that we are taking more inputs into account to generate a more accurate and robust forecast. With more accurate forecasts we will have the ability to improve supply chain efficiency e.g. better customer service, lower freight, fewer weeks of inventory on hand.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Work with sales directors, marketing and operations to bring in all relevant inputs into the forecasting process and keep them updated over time in our forecasting software.
  • Analyze sales trends to better understand not just the “what” questions around sales but more importantly the “why” questions.
  • Work in the forecasting software on a daily basis to continually hone all levels of the forecast (item totals, Bill To customer / item and Ship To customer / item).
  • Create and maintain a forecast accuracy report to track our ability to forecast sales and improve our accuracy over time.
  • Provide weekly sales reporting maintenance and analysis
  • Manage reporting out of Whole Foods’ data portal for better insight into our leading retailer’s business as well as take these insights and apply them to the forecast process.
  • Be a key participant in the Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Work with sales directors to provide needed reports and analysis via Business Objects and Navision and maintain these reports over time.
    • Customer business reviews
    • Broker performance reports
    • Product performance
    • Channel performance
  • Act as a Business Objects Subject Matter Expert to provide user support for this software to the company.
  • Maintain and execute distribution Gap reporting and authorized items grids
  • Commit to personal development and professional growth by actively participating in personal development initiatives and applying developmental thinking within the context of planning and executing work.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

  • Work with Customer Marketing on promotion analysis/reporting at both industry-wide and customer levels.
  • Help maintain Broker commissions and reporting.
  • Surge support for other departmental activities as required

KNOWLEDGE and SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree preferred or relevant business experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills:
    • Minimum 3 years experience with sales forecasting
    • Minimum 3 years experience with sales analysis
  • Demonstrated success supporting Sales personnel in a branded, consumer packaged goods sales and consumer marketing environment
  • Strong verbal and visual presentation skills converting data to insights.
  • Experience training others on technical applications and statistical techniques.
  • Experience working with syndicated consumer data (IRI or Nielsen scan data)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Business Objects (or other BI tool).
  • Team player with “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines within specified and shifting time constraints.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
